What does “engine without peripheral parts” mean?

Our engines are freed from all peripheral components during dismantling. We refer to this as an engine block without peripheral parts. What remains is the complete cylinder head and the short block.
Scope of delivery (Inspected used engine without peripheral parts):

  • Engine block (oil pump, crankshaft, bearings, connecting rods, and pistons, etc.) mounted with cylinder head (camshaft, valves, etc.)

Notes: Oil pan & valve covers: these are commonly used in the industry as transport protection and are therefore excluded from warranty. If necessary, you should take them off your old engine or replace them. Timing chain/belt: excluded from warranty, must be replaced before installation.

What does “engine with peripheral parts” mean?

A “short block with peripheral parts” refers to the engine block and the associated external components necessary to operate the engine and control its performance. These components are known as peripheral parts, examples of which are described below..

Scope of delivery (Inspected used engine with peripheral parts):

  • Engine block (oil pump, crankshaft, bearings, connecting rods, and pistons, etc.) mounted with cylinder head (camshaft, valves, etc.)
  • Uninspected peripheral parts: including starter, injection, injectors, intake manifold, turbocharger, ignition coils, high-pressure pump, hoses, and various small parts (peripheral parts are provided free of charge without warranty and must be checked by the buyer for functionality and replaced if necessary).

Notes: Oil pan & valve covers: these are commonly used in the industry as transport protection and are therefore excluded from warranty. If necessary, you should take them off your old engine or replace them. Timing chain/belt: excluded from warranty, must be replaced before installation.

What is an overhauled engine (without peripheral parts)?

An overhauled engine is a short block engine in which some engine parts are replaced with new parts, and various machining and inspection processes are carried out. The engine is subsequently a nearly new engine, which is revised to 0 km.

Scope of delivery (overhauled engine – without peripheral parts):

  • Engine block (oil pump, crankshaft, bearings, connecting rods, and pistons, etc.) mounted with cylinder head (camshaft, valves, etc.)

Notes: Oil pan & valve covers: these are commonly used in the industry as transport protection and are therefore excluded from warranty. If necessary, you should take them off your old engine or replace them. External timing chain/belt: excluded from warranty, must be replaced before installation.
The following engine parts are replaced with new parts (from high-quality brands such as Kolbenschmidt, FEBI, FAI, etc.):

  • Valves & valve stem seals
  • Piston rings
  • Connecting rod and main bearings
  • Oil pump
  • Timing chain/belt with tensioner (external parts excluded)

What is a customer overhaul?

In a customer overhaul, your own engine is collected by us (the peripheral parts must be dismantled beforehand!), then overhauled in our workshop so that it is revised to 0 km and sent back to you.
During the overhaul, some engine parts are replaced with new parts and various machining and inspection processes are carried out.

The engine is subsequently a nearly new engine, which is revised to 0 km.

The following engine parts are replaced with new parts (from high-quality brands such as Kolbenschmidt, FEBI, FAI, etc.):

  • Valves & valve stem seals
  • Piston rings
  • Connecting rod and main bearings
  • Oil pump
  • Timing chain/belt with tensioner (external parts excluded)
